Wild Tribe Productions
Wild Tribe Productions is a US studio that designs, builds, and manages museum shops, treating each retail project as an extension of the museum experience. I designed and built its WordPress website around that idea: a What We Do page covering store design, product development and procurement, and merchandising, a portfolio of the shops themselves, and a Who We Are page introducing founders Gemmie Dayrit and Kristin Genet. The design is typographic and illustration-led — oversized black headings and botanical line art framing the studio's wordmark.

Details
Wild Tribe Productions designs, builds, and manages museum shops, and its whole argument is that the gift shop is part of the exhibition rather than an afterthought. I designed and built the site in WordPress so that the studio’s work could make that argument visually. The pages run as a sequence of type-led statements: a botanical-framed wordmark on the homepage, a We Create page carrying the studio’s positioning, a What We Do page splitting the practice into store design, product development and procurement, and merchandising, and a portfolio of the shops themselves, including museum retail builds for natural history collections. A persistent Contact Us button sits in the corner of every page.
The Who We Are page does the credibility work. It introduces the two founders by name — Gemmie Dayrit, who came from traveling exhibitions for institutions including Titanic and Bodies before moving into museum retail, and Kristin Genet, whose background in architecture, film set design, and event design shapes the studio’s approach to space. Naming that experience is the point: a museum board deciding who should run its gift shop is buying provenance as much as design.
Specialist studios have a harder time than generalists online, because their best argument is a body of work that needs context. A portfolio grid on its own does not explain why museum retail is different from retail, or why an exhibitions background matters when you are laying out a shop. I build WordPress websites for design studios, agencies, and specialist consultancies that structure the argument: a services page that reads as a method rather than a list, a team page that shows what the founders actually did before, and a portfolio where each project says what the problem was. If your studio’s work needs explaining before it can be sold, contact me about your museum retail website.
