The Pitak Project

The Pitak Project is a permaculture farm and sustainable living community in La Union, the Philippines, founded by life partners Cye and Carol. I built their WordPress website with Elementor Pro to explain the work behind their projects — a market garden, natural building, community supported agriculture, and permaculture training — publish news fresh from the farm, and turn that interest into donations.

Details

I built The Pitak Project’s website in WordPress with Elementor Pro so the team could keep building on it themselves. An Our Projects section covers six initiatives — a market garden, Abot-Kamay, community supported agriculture, natural building, permaculture and regenerative agriculture, and trainings and workshops. The About Us page opens with the Ilocano meaning of ‘pitak’ and tells the founders’ story, while a blog keeps news coming fresh from the farm. A donate button sits in the navigation on every page.

Permaculture farms and advocacy organizations face the same problem: their work is rooted in a particular place and community, and that is the hardest thing to convey through a screen. Visitors arrive curious and leave with nothing to do about it. A website has to answer three questions in order — what is the work, is it real, and what can I do — and it has to make the third one easy. I build WordPress websites for nonprofits, social enterprises, and regenerative agriculture projects that do exactly that: project pages instead of vague mission statements, plain-language storytelling, and a donate route that is never more than a click away.

If you run a nonprofit, social enterprise, or regenerative agriculture project and want a website that helps people understand and support your cause, contact me about your nonprofit website.
