Solenergy

Summary

I built a custom WordPress website for Solenergy Systems, Inc., a Philippine company providing dependable, affordable, and world-class solar power systems.

Details

Solenergy Systems, Inc. builds dependable, affordable, and world-class solar power systems. The CEO came to me with specific requirements for the design and interaction: a one-page layout with animated elements, deliberately different from the standard corporate sites its competitors were running. I built the site on WordPress with a custom child theme of WooThemes Canvas.

The animation is the centrepiece. Using GSAP with CSS and SVG, I animated parts of the SVG icons so they radiate outward from the centre as they scroll into view — a visual shorthand for the sun and bursts of energy. All the core information sits on the front page, and the detail on the company and its projects stays hidden until a relevant link is clicked, at which point it slides into view as an overlay panel, as with the Mactan Cebu International Airport and BIPV project write-ups.

Because the marketing team needed to update the site themselves, everything runs through WordPress. Editing animated icons is an unusual requirement, so I went further and built custom fields for replacing the SVG icons and their labels, and for editing the JavaScript that positions them. The site is responsive for mobile devices.

For energy and engineering companies, a website can do more than list services; I build custom WordPress sites that carry a technical story with motion that means something. Contact me about your website.
