Online Clinic Booking is a booking and payment website I built for my sister, a pediatrician, during the COVID-19 quarantine. It lets her existing patients who do not need a physical checkup book an online consultation and pay online, so they avoid unnecessary exposure in public spaces and hospitals — and she can limit her own exposure to the patients who need immediate care.
I built the site with WordPress and WooCommerce, with payments handled through PayPal, and the consultations themselves run over her preferred mobile messaging app. At her request I also expanded it to accept clinic visit appointments, using a form with basic COVID-19 exposure screening questions.
For clinics and solo practitioners, online booking removes the phone tag and paperwork that eats into appointment time.
